Business Unit
A Business Unit corresponds to a set of organizations that are typically groups together during Partner creation. This field is defined during the creation of a workflow request, and it drives several other rules throughout the workflow.
These include:
- Sales Area (consisting of Sales Organization / Distribution Channel / Division)
- Purchasing Organization
- Customer Company Code
- Supplier Company Code
- Credit Segment
A Business Unit can encompass one of more of each of these areas, with some of them being required while others options They are also not mutually exclusive.
For example, the following Business Units could exist in the same configuration:
Business Unit: US ("United States")
- Sales Area: US01 / 01 / 01 ("USA") REQUIRED
- Customer Company Code: US01 ("USA") REQUIRED
- Purchasing Organization: US01 ("USA") OPTIONAL
- Suppler Company Code: US01 ("USA") OPTIONAL
Busines Unit: NA ("North America)
