Scenario

A Scenario encompasses a collection of steps, rules, and other configurations related to the operation of a workflow. These scenarios can be tailored to be either broad or finely detailed, depending on specific requirements.

Being the highest level of configuration, the Scenario serves as the pivotal starting point for initiating any workflow and drives variosu other behaviors for a given Workflow Instance. Examples of typical scenarios might include:

  • New Vendor Creation
  • Update Existing Vendor
  • Extend Vendor to another Purchasing Organization
  • Create a new Customer
  • Establish a new Ship-to Address for an Existing Sold-to Customer
  • Onboard an Employee
  • Introduce a new Logistics Provider
  • Acquire a New Export Customer

The Scenario stands as the initial field that users must select when initiating a new Workflow Request. Together with the designated 'Account Group,' the Scenario dictates a spectrum of configuration options for the subsequent 'workflow instance'. These options include:

  • Determining which Account Groups are available for processing.
  • Identifying whether the Business Partner is new or pre-existing.
  • Establishing the Path, which series of Steps outlined for a given workflow instance
  • Specifying the required or optional Partner Roles for the process.
